Sewickley, PA – Modern Transportation Services, LLC was honored with its second consecutive SmartWay® Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, reflecting the bulk carrier’s status as a true industry leader in freight supply chain environmental performance and energy efficiency.  Modern continued to shrink their company’s carbon footprint by reducing CO2 emissions by an average of 33 grams per mile, or an additional 2% year over year reduction. They have also reduced their dependence on fossil fuels by increasing the size of their natural gas trucks throughout their nationwide fleet.
