Modern Transportation Teams with Lytx to Enhance Fleet Safety

Liquid chemical and dry bulk carrier poised to install Lytx DriveCam® in all power units

SEWICKLEY, PA (PRWEB) February 3, 2017

Modern Transportation, a carrier that has become synonymous with their mantra “Home Safe Tonight!”, has taken the next step toward their quest to eliminate collisions and enhance the safety of America’s highways. After months of research, Modern has selected the Lytx DriveCam® Program to begin the installation of inward and outward facing cameras in each of their power units.

Lytx, formerly DriveCam® Inc., is a San Diego-based driver risk management company. This global organization specializes in designing, manufacturing, and selling driver video safety programs used by commercial fleets. “We selected the Lytx DriveCam® Program because it provides expert data analysis that enables us to continually enhance driver safety”, stated Tony Cutuli, Modern’s Sr. Director of Safety. “In addition, video proof will protect Modern and our drivers from careless motorists who file frivolous lawsuits, 75% of which are found in favor of the motorist.”

The installation of cameras in over 300 tractors, typically utilized in a 24/7 slip-seat operation, takes considerable coordination. The process of installing the cameras has already taken place in some of Modern’s larger terminals, with a goal of having all cameras installed by mid-Summer 2017. “It’s all about doing the right thing for our drivers, their families, and our customers”, shares Patrick Cozzens, President of Modern. “When we get every load delivered without incident and every driver home safely, we consider that day a success”.

Headquartered in suburban Pittsburgh, Modern serves the bulk raw material and chemical logistics needs of numerous clients in a multitude of manufacturing industries. Currently, Modern provides safe and reliable service from twenty-four strategically-located terminal locations throughout the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, and the South.
